‘Melodies for maladies that linger’
The Palliative Care Association of Sri Lanka commemorated the World Palliative Care Day 2018 onthe 13th of October at the Lanka Hospital Auditorium. Dr. Chamath Fernando had the invaluable opportunity to deliver the oration at this event in honour of late Mrs. Mallika Rani Khoja.
His talk themed "Melodies for maladies that linger" was based on the Randomized Cross-over Clinical Trial that he conducted aiming to assess the effectiveness of a brief session of culturally appropriate instrumental classical music on alleviation of pain, grief and anxiety among resident cancer patients in Sri Lanka. The talk delivered by Dr. Chamath at the oration can be viewed through this link in Youtube.
