The Asia Pacific Hospice Palliative Care Network (APHN) hosted their quarterly palliative care webinar series as part of the World Hospice Palliative Care Day celebrations and NCPCAR was able to partner up in hosting the webinar series with the support of Dr. Chamath. The first webinar session of the series was held on the 29th of October, 2018 and the speaker for the session was Dr. Neo Han Yee, Consultant Palliative Physician from Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore to speak regarding ‘Management of Dypsnea’.
The session was held from 12.00pm to 1.00 p.m at the Conference Room, Department of Family Medicine. The webinar was indeed a highly resourceful session and all the participants were greatly impressed on how important and timely the topic was. Although it was the very first experience in hosting a webinar programme by NCPCAR, we were able to handle it smoothly. There were around 40 participants for the session and lunch also was arranged to the attendees. Apart from the presentation, it also allowed post session discussions which added an additional value for the whole programme.
This was an excellent opportunity for all the palliative care professionals and students to learn from, discuss with and raise questions to international experts in the field of palliative care and it was a common suggestion by the attendees to continue hosting such sessions in order to explore the field of palliative care and enrich themselves in order to serve better.
