‘INNOVATE SRI LANKA 2019’ is an innovation and invention exhibition organized by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in celebrating their 60th anniversary in shouldering the progress of the nation through education. This one-of-a-kind exhibition is the largest and the first by a local university to promote innovations within the university and outside.
The exhibition was held on 2nd and 3rd of April at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike exhibition premises at the BMICH and was open for public, school and university students, innovators, investors and industry experts from 8.30 a.m. till 9.00 p.m.
NCPCAR also got the invaluable opportunity to participate in this grand exhibition as one of the research centres operated within the university. Our main intention was to raise awareness among the general public on ANAPHYLAXIS, a severe allergic condition which is serious and life- threatening. We were also able to feature the timely concept of Allergy Cube through this exhibition which provided a new experience for the onlookers, especially for the school children since it mainly lets the public realize how they would feel if they are the ones to be trapped with allergies.
‘Save a Life’ is an essential initiative organized by NCPCAR which is primarily focused on the patients who suffer from “Anaphylaxis” and it mainly aims at the distribution of free Epinephrine Auto-Injectors for the needy, an essential lifesaving medication which usually comes at a costly price. Thus, we got the opportunity to spread the word among the public regarding the service done by NCPCAR in ensuring optimal patient care.
Several videos were designed based on allergy awareness which provides the background idea regarding the practical situations of allergy and palliative care. These can be viewed from the following links.
